This is the type of band that you’d be pleased to stumble upon at a basement show anywhere in the Midwest and beyond. The songs on this latest release have a multitude of hooks in the great pop punk tradition, lyrical gems that capture the ennui of being young in a big city such as “Spending too much time perfecting my obsessions” or “We all think we’re acting out, when we’re all acting the same”, and an energy that is palpable from start to finish. This is music that draws on the best of its inspirations, yet crafts a sound and songwriting style that is distinct and engaging.
