I find it refreshing when something just ‘is what it is’. This album purports to have been made in a cozy living room, by a couple friends in robes. The arrangements are sparse, the songs are staples, and you may or may not want to have hot chocolate at the ready while you listen. The sound nods it’s Santa cap to the likes of Chet, Nat, and Louis, all while keeping it fresh and to the point. It’s holiday music the way it should be: earnest, loose, fun, warm and cozy.
