…And You’re Doing Nothing is the second single out from Tape Girl, a solo project started last year by Beth Rivera, her guitar, and her laptop. The three songs spanning just about 8 minutes are a fantastic blend of fun, light poppy synthy sounds and fast and fierce upstrokes that will have you going back and forth between a nice gentle sway and full on skanking (or headbanging). The song writing also hits quite close to home, touching on points we are all familiar with as of the last year, take the title track for example, “it’s the weekend, and you’re doing nothing”. Except for perhaps now listening to Tape Girl on repeat and indulging in some pepperoni pizza.
