Diagonal – S/T

Some pretty rad psych/jam/shoegaze styled rock from Chicago’s own Diagonal. Here we have an interesting contradiction of vibes: dreamy and grounded. It’s dreamy in the atmospheric and ambient sense. While it’s grounded in the sense that the musicianship and songwriting are distinctive, anchored by some really groovy playing. The rhythm section here in particular is savory, doing justice to the winding melodic guitar lines and passionate vocals. Overall this just works, it’s exactly what you’d want out of your indie rock these days! Vinyl pressed at Chicago’s Smashed Plastic.
