Emily Jane Powers – Isometry

posted in: Review | 0

I was already a fan of Emily Jane Powers, and even more so now. The newest release from Emily increases the focus on honest and intense songwriting. Standout track, Blue Black Grey White has a passionate shout along chorus. Three of the nine tracks are instrumental, color named tracks, Greenish, Yellowish, and Bluish. These lovely brief songs play with guitar texture, tone, and feedback. What I like most about Emily’s music is how expressive the guitar is, almost as if Emily’s voice and guitar and in a back-and-forth duet. If you’re into guitar-based indie rock, this album is a must listen.
