“Human life has no meaning, still we find it in each other day,”
What a lovely lyrical sentiment! Each song on the new Hard Femme album is filled with wonder, existentialism, and queer identity. Hard Femme’s “soft queer pop” has some gentle and lovely qualities that are reminiscent of Belle & Sebastian. This musical overlap with B&S feels like a fresh musical landscape for the fresh and thoughtful lyrics. It’s also a nice reminder that I used to love B&S. Each song stands out with lyrical gems and lovely melodies. This album can be a lovely and easy listen while chilling at the beach, but I also recommend focusing on the lyrics, or reading along on bandcamp.
