Sunny, funky, good-time rock just in time for the summer. Enjoyable flow both in the sung and spoken verses, with lyrics detailing the varieties of ways to turn up, all with a healthy dose of self-empowerment. The tracks move along nicely, with a distinct groove and explosive pop chorus to top it all off. This album is another enjoyable musical shift for the ever eclectic and prolific Serengeti. If you haven’t checked out his tunes lately, he’s collaborated with Jenny Lewis and Greg from Deerhoof. Shifting through his last few years of music is an enjoyable ride. This release though focused on the fun side, and gives the impression that Serengeti will be a fun act to see this summer.
