The Sprawl – Cancelled Future

“I am America, can you tell? I’m more unfair than a concrete cell”

I want more music like this to exist. I’ve often dreamt of an alternate punk reality where bands like Devo, Minutemen, Suburban Lanes, and Dead Milkmen were the bands that inspired future bands. Irreverent, political, and honestly bizarre. Even a music world where At The Drive-In and System of a Down weren’t quirky exceptions. The Sprawl mixup plenty of punk and rock quirks into their own unique reality. They seem pretty pissed too, and how couldn’t you be? The vocals from Nate Dirck switch between a mild yowl to a harsh growl. I’m sadly only aware of a few Indianapolis bands, but dang this is a good one!
